Scriptation and Shot Lister Announce Integration

Scriptation, the Emmy® Award-winning script annotation app for the film and television industry, and Shot Lister, the premier shot listing and scheduling application, are thrilled to announce a groundbreaking integration designed to streamline production workflows for filmmakers and production teams worldwide.
Scriptation and Shot Lister join forces to streamline film and TV production workflows, marking a groundbreaking step toward more connected, efficient filmmaking.

This partnership combines the strengths of these two industry-leading applications, enabling them to work seamlessly together while eliminating the need for users to manually update data across two separate software platforms. The integration allows users to import scripts directly from Scriptation into Shot Lister, which then automatically creates a Shot Lister project file that retains crucial scene metadata from Scriptation. As scripts undergo revisions, associated shot lists are automatically updated, ensuring that script changes are reflected in users’ Shot Lister projects. This approach aligns with Movielabs’ 2030 Vision for a more connected, interoperable production ecosystem. This collaboration empowers filmmakers to focus on their creative vision by removing the tedious task of manually updating shot lists during rewrites.

Steve Vitolo, CEO of Scriptation, brings extensive industry experience to this collaboration, having written for “Black-ish” and “Hot in Cleveland” and serving as both writer and executive producer for the Universal Pictures romantic comedy, “The List.” Vitolo said, “This partnership is the future of production—integrated tools that democratize creativity. While other industries streamline workflows with software, film and TV lag behind. By working together, we can transform creative processes.”

By eliminating manual data entry, this solution exemplifies the automation and data standardization central to Movielabs’ 2030 Vision for film and TV production.

Zach Lipovsky, CEO of Shot Lister, is an Emmy®-nominated director known for his work on the sci-fi thriller “Freaks,” the live-action adaptation of “Kim Possible,” and the upcoming “Final Destination: Bloodlines.” Lipovsky said, “The first time I played with our new seamless integration I was amazed at how magical it felt. Both our apps complement each other so well, and to have them talk to each other so seamlessly is a great sign for the future of filmmaking apps.”

The integrated features are available to all customers starting today on iOS and macOS platforms. Additionally, Scriptation and Shot Lister are among the first to adopt Apple’s new contingent pricing, offering a 20% discount when both app subscriptions are purchased together—further democratizing creativity with accessible, cost-effective production tools.
