Hailing from Ramat Gan, Israel, Ghertner has seamlessly merged her dual talents, emerging as a dynamic force in the entertainment industry. Her work reflects a blend of technical expertise and artistic depth, making her a unique figure in film and dance.

Ghertner has taken on diverse roles in filmmaking, each adding another layer to her multifaceted career. Her work marked her early days as an assistant director on Green Ape (2013), which introduced her to the intricate dynamics of film production. Her work as an assistant producer on The Washed contributed to the film earning an honourable mention at the Women’s Festival in Rehovot in 2012, marking a significant milestone in her creative evolution. This foundational experience sharpened her skills, enabling her to take on more critical responsibilities in subsequent projects.

Ghertner’s production coordination on the film Broken Mirrors (2018) showcased her meticulous organizational abilities, particularly in managing extras and logistical complexities. Shira’s talent extends beyond traditional filmmaking. She has championed international dance productions, such as the 2016 theatrical dance performance Midnight Legend, where she served as the production coordinator. The production featured renowned international dancers and was a landmark achievement in the global dance theater scene. Recently, her choreography took center stage in a dance video for Eden Golan’s Hurricane, showcasing her unique fusion of movement and storytelling. Her ability to combine multiple influences into her performances reflects her dedication to pushing boundaries and exploring new creative territories.

Beyond her artistry, Ghertner advocates for fair practices in the creative industries through her involvement with the ACT Workers Union. Her commitment to improving working conditions underscores her deep connection to the industry and her peers, making her not just a performer but also a change-maker.  Shira Ghertner continues to redefine creativity, crafting narratives and movements that transcend borders and resonate deeply with audiences.
