Playmaker Pictures Announces New Docuseries “American Badass Chronicles”

Playmaker Pictures today announced the upcoming release of its highly anticipated six-episode docuseries, American Badass Chronicles, featuring Michael Madsen, Quentin Tarantino, John Travolta, and Charlie Sheen.

Building upon the success of the critically acclaimed documentary American Badass: A Michael Madsen Retrospective, which premiered on Apple TV and Amazon in July 2025, this new series offers an expansive deep dive into the life, artistry, and enduring legacy of actor, producer, and poet Michael Madsen.

Spanning six episodes and featuring more than seven hours of previously unreleased material, American Badass Chronicles provides an unfiltered look at Madsen’s cinematic journey — from his early career breakthroughs to his collaborations with Hollywood’s most iconic filmmakers. Viewers will experience intimate reflections, rare behind-the-scenes footage, and new interviews that illuminate the man behind the myth.

Director Dominique Milano shared insight into the project’s evolution: “We spent over eight years with Michael crafting his life story. It was his strong wish to expand the project for his fans and for the world to see. We now have the opportunity to integrate material from Dennis Hopper, extend the contributions of Harry Dean Stanton, Quentin Tarantino, and Robert Forster, and reveal with more precision the intricate nature of the Hollywood system.”
Production on the docuseries is well underway, with the first two episodes completed and the remaining four currently in post-production. The full six-part series is slated for worldwide release in March 2026.
