The Regional EMMY nominated film for “Outstanding Cultural Documentary” Heartprints in the Snow is now available on the new streamer Buddi which launched on National Puppy Day! “I wanted to create a film that can get seen by as many people as possible” the film’s creator Robert Michael stated, “and I was thrilled to be picked up by a platform that is FOR pets and ONLY pets. Dogsledding was everything to my family growing up, and this new platform will be the perfect home and medium to show how much the bond between man and dog meant to my family and I.”

Buddi intends to be the most successful pet-friendly streaming service available, and prides itself on curating content FOR pet people BY pet people. Buddi is a one-stop-shop for the most entertaining and family friendly movies and TV shows for pet people of all ages, making it the perfect streamer for the dogsledding documentary.

“Laughter, understanding, and support are the secret sauce for a magical bond between pets and their parents” says CEO of Buddi, Layla Kasha. “My husband, Ryan, and I have lived those highs and lows firsthand, and now we have created a cozy home for fellow pet devotees.” In further detail regarding the new streaming platform, Layla added that “Buddi is a haven for pet parents like you and me, born out of our love for our cat, Hermiz. We needed answers and felt there should be a safe place to get those answers while feeling connected. We’re all about tail-wagging health & nutrition tips, paw-sitively amazing training insights, expert guidance, cuddles, laughs, and everything in between.”

Heartprints in the Snow is an hour long documentary about 9 small town mushers sharing their experiences of recreational mushing and how the sport impacted their lives. It was originally broadcast on Muskegon Channel and focused heavily on the Anderson family (Bob, Faith, and Amanda Anderson) as well as Thunderfeet Kennel and Sleds (Ted and Ann Nelson), Destinee Kiel, Annie Hammond, Jill Miller, and Bob Tremblay. “When Robert told me that he wanted to film a documentary on dogsledding with his family in Michigan, I immediately jumped on board” stated Diana Maiocco, one of the executive producers of the project, “for one thing, I am a huge animal lover and I thought it would be important to show how these dogs are loved, well cared for and considered family. Also, when I think of dogsledding I think of Alaska, not Michigan, so that was a revelation for me and probably one for viewers too. I am very proud of the film and the praise it has received.” Diana also helped produce the CNN film “Love, Gilda” and “Shattered Hopes” on REELZ Network.

Heartprints in the Snow was also executive produced by Jan Nizen (Oblivious), Hayden Conner Ashworth (Girl Chill), and Brian Watson. It was produced by GEEPAK Entertainment in association with Early Release Content and Mad Sin Cinema! It features Robert Michael not only as the creator, but also the host of the program. “Our film has already garnered a lot of excitement and praise from Michigan, to the rest of the country, and now internationally with special showings in Finland and Norway,” Robert Michael stated, “and we could not be more excited for this next chapter with Buddi! We are thrilled to add them to our family!”

You can stream the film now on watchbuddi.com. Subscriptions start at 7.99 with no commercials.
