Scott Weintrob, an acclaimed director based in Los Angeles, has carved a unique niche in the entertainment industry through his exceptional talents and creative vision. With a wealth of experience, Weintrob’s directorial prowess has manifested in various projects, spanning the realms of feature films, documentaries, and globally recognized commercial campaigns. His multifaceted approach to storytelling has garnered him recognition and praise, establishing him as a prominent figure in the ever-evolving landscape of the entertainment world.

Weintrob’s journey into the world of visual storytelling began during his formative years as a photographer’s assistant at the renowned East London Click Studios. Under the mentorship of esteemed fashion photographers like Jean-Baptiste Mondino, Albert Watson, Rankin, and David Simms, he honed his skills while contributing to publications such as Vogue and Dazed and Confused.

He has since founded Large Eyes, a multidisciplinary creative studio where iconic talent and brands combine to craft conceptually daring series and films. Through this venture, Weintrob has demonstrated his versatility by working with Apple, Netflix, Amazon Studios, Migos, Cardi B, Chance The Rapper, Lil Yachty, and more. His creativity can only be described as a unique blend of storytelling and the embodiment of authentic street culture.

In television, Weintrob directed the global hit series “Fastest Car” for Netflix and contributed to the Emmy-nominated documentary series “Home” on Apple+. Additionally, Weintrob recently wrote and created “To The Edge” for Orlando Bloom, a series set to release on Peacock/NBC in 2024. 

Weintrob’s impact extends to the commercial realm, directing global campaigns for Audi, Cadillac, Volvo, and Corvette. His exceptional work has been recognized with accolades, including the prestigious Cannes Lion award. Weintrob has expressed his adoration for this genre of visual storytelling, stating, “I will always make commercials. My favorite movie directors never stopped making commercials,” referencing Martin Scorsese’s recent project for Bleu de Chanel.

His latest creation is the feature film “Paradox Effect,” starring Olga Kurylenko and Harvey Keitel. Slated for release in 2024, the film showcases Weintrob’s ability to bring compelling narratives to the big screen. “Paradox Effect ” follows the story of Karina (Kurylenko) as she confronts the formidable gangster Silvio (Keitel) in a desperate mission to rescue her abducted daughter. Weintrob describes how his past experience influenced his approach for his first feature film: “I would say my work in commercials guided my approach to shooting the action but my approach to storytelling came from my experience as a documentary director.” It premiered to resounding acclaim at the Rome Film Festival this October with many praising Weintrob’s direction and the cast’s astounding performances.
