CJ 4DPLEX and B&B Theatres Strengthen Partnership with New 4DX and SCREENX Experiences

CJ 4DPLEX, the world’s leading producer of premium cinema formats and immersive theater experiences, and B&B Theatres, the fifth-largest theatre chain in America, announced today the opening of a new 4DX auditorium and SCREENX auditorium enhanced by Dolby Atmos at B&B Theatres Liberty Township in Butler County, Ohio.

The new experiences, which opened to moviegoers last Friday, represent several meaningful milestones for CJ 4DPLEX. SCREENX arrives in the Cincinnati market for the first time, becoming the fifth installation in Ohio and the fifteenth across B&B Theatres’ growing portfolio of premium cinematic experiences. Situated within B&B’s Grand Screen PLF auditorium, the 270-degree format expands across a sweeping 57-foot-wide screen with 198 recliner seats, making it the largest SCREENX auditorium in Ohio and one of the most striking SCREENX cinematic spaces in the country.

The 98-seat 4DX auditorium is equally significant, marking the multisensory format’s debut in Ohio and the second developed alongside B&B Theatres. Together, the two formats under one roof represent the latest milestone in CJ 4DPLEX and B&B Theatres’ expanding partnership and shared commitment to elevating the moviegoing experience.

SCREENX introduces a 270-degree panoramic viewing environment that expands select scenes of a film beyond the main screen and onto the auditorium’s side walls, surrounding audiences and placing them directly inside the story. At Liberty Township, that visual immersion is matched by the power of Dolby Atmos, a revolutionary spatial audio technology that moves beyond the traditional surround sound experience.

4DX takes the experience a step further by synchronizing motion seats and environmental effects, including wind, vibration, lightning, scent and water, with the action on screen, allowing audiences to feel the film as it unfolds.

“Our relationship with B&B Theatres continues to reach new heights, and the Liberty Township location is a testament to what we can accomplish together,” said Don Savant, CEO and President, Americas at CJ 4DPLEX. “Every new opening reflects our shared vision of expanding premium cinema experiences, and bringing the first SCREENX with Dolby Atmos in the United States to this market is another exciting milestone.”

“SCREENX and 4DX represent the spirit of innovation that has guided B&B for over a hundred years,” said Brock Bagby, President of B&B Theatres. “We are committed to creating venues that feature the best entertainment in the marketplace, and CJ 4DPLEX has been an incredible partner in the realization of that vision. We are thrilled to bring these experiences to Liberty Township.”

CJ 4DPLEX and B&B Theatres first joined forces in 2018, and their premium cinema footprint has grown steadily ever since. Liberty Township is their fourteenth SCREENX and second 4DX location together and reinforces both companies’ long-term commitment to growing premium cinema together.

Home to Ohio’s largest SCREENX auditorium and North America’s first SCREENX with Dolby Atmos, alongside Ohio’s first 4DX theater, B&B Theatres Liberty Township is located at 7514 Bales St., Liberty Township, OH 45069. Both experiences are now open to moviegoers. Tickets can be purchased at bbtheatres.com.
