Can you tell us more about yourself?

I am an actor currently living in Vancouver Canada – I moved here from Australia 10 months ago for acting and am only just scratching the surface. I’m extremely excited for what’s to come and all the in-between moments.

How did you get started in the entertainment industry?

I grew up in a small rural country town in Australia. I remember falling in love with performing at a fairly young age. My uncle was in the local Theatre Company, and as a family, we would go and watch him perform. I can remember marvelling at the costumes, the sets, the stage, and just the atmosphere of the theatre and performing more generally. It is my first memory of wanting to act and be a part of that world in some way. From there I slowly forged my own path in the industry and to this day am still navigating my own individual path in it.

What do you like most about acting?

I think for me personally, I deeply resonate and identify with language, and film and TV really exemplify the experience of both language and story alike. That is the draw for me, the idea and concept of telling stories that impact people on a grand scale is really inspiring. Stories, language, and art are all universal. So to be a part of that has a magically timeless quality to it.

How different is it to act in a movie and to act in a TV series? And which one do you prefer?

I would say for me personally I feel even though time is a huge huge factor in both and usually something that you’re always chasing. In film, I feel you do get the luxury of a little more time, and working with the same people for an extended period is really special. TV, I feel sometimes you can just be in and out, sometimes even in just one day, so I really relished in having time on set and getting to know all the cast and crew.  I don’t have a preference. I’m always just super grateful to be working across either medium.

What are some of the difficulties of the acting business?

Uncertainty, being away from loved ones, and wavering confidence and self-belief.

What do you do when you’re not filming?

Outdoors / discovering new places. In my spare time I am currently working on getting my sailboat license, so next summer I can explore more of the Vancouver coastline.

What are your future plans?

I am currently based in Vancouver and have some exciting things coming up in 2023. I hope to be able to split my time equally between Canada, Australia, and the USA.

What are you currently watching?

  • Succession
  • Grizzly Man
