Lionsgate Scores Record 23 Emmy Nominations for ‘The Studio’

Lionsgate’s hit Apple TV+ comedy The Studio, hailing from the studio’s longstanding collaboration with comedic superstars Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s Point Grey Pictures, earned a total of 23 Emmy® nominations.

Lionsgate’s (NYSE: LION) hit Apple TV+ comedy The Studio, hailing from the studio’s longstanding collaboration with comedic superstars Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s Point Grey Pictures, earned a total of 23 Emmy® nominations today, garnering the most comedy nominations in a single year and becoming the most nominated freshman comedy ever. The recognition comes on the heels of the series’ Season 2 renewal on Apple TV+. Lionsgate’s hit series The Rookie on ABC also earned two Emmy® nominations, bringing the Company’s total to 25 Emmy nominations.

The product of Lionsgate’s first-look TV deal and longstanding relationship with Point Grey, The Studio stars multiple Emmy®, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award nominee Seth Rogen, who also serves as co-creator, writer, director and executive producer alongside Emmy® Award nominee Evan Goldberg. The show features a star-studded ensemble cast led by Rogen, Emmy®, SAG and Golden Globe Award winner Catherine O’Hara, Emmy® Award nominee Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz and Chase Sui Wonders, with Emmy® Award winning guest star Bryan Cranston. The series also features cameos from some of Hollywood’s most iconic actors, directors and producers.

From Lionsgate Television, The Studio is created by multi-Emmy® Award winners Peter Huyck and Alex Gregory, along with Rogen, Goldberg and Frida Perez. Point Grey Pictures’ James Weaver executive produces the show along with the creators. Alex McAtee and Josh Fagen also serve as executive producers.

Alexi Hawley is the series creator, writer and executive producer of The Rookie. The show is produced by Lionsgate Television in partnership with 20th Television. Hawley executive produces alongside Mark Gordon, Nathan Fillion, Michelle Chapman, Bill Norcross and Brynn Malone.
