Directed by Patrick Moreau (The New Hustle, Our Journey Home) and produced by Muse Storytelling, the film chronicles the extraordinary life and career of Romero Britto—the Brazilian-born, Miami-based artist who became the most licensed and collected visual artist in the world and founder of the Happy Art Movement.
Narrated by Britto himself, The BRITTO Doc takes audiences from his humble beginnings in Recife, Brazil—where he painted with his mother’s nail polish on scraps—to his global rise as an artistic force whose works are celebrated in more than 120 countries. The documentary is both a deeply personal narrative and a colorful five-part art installation, weaving together Britto’s story of resilience, optimism, and love.
The film features appearances from world-renowned figures, including Andrea Bocelli, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Marc Anthony, DJ Khaled, Gloria and Emilio Estefan, Ronaldinho, Martha Stewart, Domenico Dolce, and many others, who share their admiration for Britto’s impact across art, music, fashion, and culture.
“For me, it is an honor to have the opportunity to share my story and my passion for art with the world,” said Romero Britto. “I hope this movie can inspire others to work hard, stay true to their own voice, be optimistic, and spread happiness.”
“From painting on scraps in Brazil to creating the Happy Art Movement and bringing joy to millions, Britto’s journey is a testament to the transformative power of creativity,” added Lucas Vidal, CEO of BRITTO Group and Executive Producer.
Britto’s art has been showcased at the Carrousel du Louvre, the Soumaya Museum, the Super Bowl XLI opening ceremony with Cirque du Soleil, and as the official art of the FIFA World Cup in Brazil and South Africa. His iconic visual language—marked by vibrant colors, bold lines, and themes of joy and hope—has also extended into global collaborations with leading brands, cementing his status as a cultural icon.
