ANTWAR WALKER TAPPED TO LEAD ATLANTA CAR-THEFT THRILLER ‘STRIKERS’

Writer-director-producer Malik Salaam has cast rising star Antwar Walker (The Waterboyz, Da Partments) as the lead in his new feature STRIKERS, a “hood-meets-arthouse” drama rooted in Atlanta’s slide-crime scene.

This news comes on the heels of Salaam’s success with CUT—backed by hip-hop legend Big Oomp. After spending its opening week on Tubi’s Most Popular list, STRIKERS has landed on Maverick Entertainment’s radar as a potential Maverick Original.

Walker will portray Akhil “Akh” Daniels, a brilliant yet volatile high-school senior seduced by a crew of high-speed car thieves led by his charismatic but toxic uncle, Gator. When a routine boost spirals into violence, Akh must confront the cost of loyalty and decide whether blood ties or street codes will rule his future.

Walker’s breakout performances in The Waterboyz and Da Partments showcased the raw intensity and emotional range he brings to street-level stories, and—as an Atlanta native—he adds an authenticity that anchors STRIKERS firmly in the city’s pulse. Principal photography begins this fall on location in Atlanta, with release targeted for 2026 across major AVOD platforms. Additional casting announcements are forthcoming.
