Cash Collectors is a satirical comedy film about the world of TV reality. Production began in 2019 as a short, but investors responded very well to it and decided to extend it into a full-length film. The entire project was completely halted during COVID-19, and it took more than two years to get it back on track, pushing the release date to 2025 for the Beverly Hills Film Festival.

Led by Disney actor Blake Boyd, who plays the role of show host Sam White ; Playboy model and comedian Lauren Compton, who portrays Serenity Quinn; and a myriad of talented actors such as Angie Everhart, Michael Madsen, Costas Mandylor, Johnny Messner, Leslie Zemeckis, Damian Raven, Chuck Zito, and Vince Duvall, along with Alana de Freitas, to name a few. The film immerses you in the fascinating world of unscripted reality TV and was filmed all over the globe in a very unconventional style with a camera and visual effects that continually puzzle the viewer.

From director Dominique Milano: “The main goal as a filmmaker in this film was to plant a seed of doubt for the audience while the film was being watched. Is this real? Is it staged? Is it both? It was a risk to take, but risks are necessary for progress. About 330 conventional films were selected by the festival, so it’s also good to give a different type of feature the chance to be showcased .”

The participating filmmakers in attendance at the festival were critical of the film, but the regular audience loved it, which is exactly how Milano wanted it, stating: “I respectfully understand the filmmakers ‘ points of view, but I make films and documentaries for the general audience, not for the people with whom I compete. They are entitled to their opinion; I am entitled to mine.”

The main challenge during filming was obtaining the proper authorization overseas post-COVID. The team faced issues filming next to the Eiffel Tower, the Monte Carlo casino , the Old City in Jerusalem, and the Roman Coliseum. The second unit production, led by Todd Causley, filmed the domestic collections, and everything was in the can for online editor Ryan March (represented by CAA) to take over post -production in 2024 and prepare the final cut for a summer 2025 release.

The sequel is already in the works and will be filmed in the state of Nevada. A majority of the same actors are returning, along with new up-and-coming talents like Paramount+ actress Paola Paulin, who is slated to take on a co-starring role.

In the meantime, a worldwide release has been scheduled for mid-June on all major platforms. The 2025 Beverly Hills Film Festival concludes this Sunday night with a dinner gala at the Beverly Hills Hilton. Dominique Milano, along with partner Fabrice Sopoglian, won the Best Producer award last year for the documentary “Chuck Zito: An American Story ” about former New York Hells Angels club president Chuck Zito.

Cash Collectors: A Playmaker Pictures release. Written and directed by Dominique Milano. Produced by Mark Chapman, Todd Causley, Stéphane Fiorenza, and David Lipper. Executive Producers Joseph Daniel Hughes, Willy Hydayat, and Dominique Milano.
