Actors Malina Weissman and Anthony Turpel have just joined the cast of the upcoming horror film ‘The Hermit’.

‘The Hermit’ follows the story of a high school couple, both 19, away on a weekend fishing trip, who, after stumbling off trail, find themselves on a farm and in the presence of a cannibalistic pig farmer. Who makes and sells jerky from his human victims.

Malina Weissman (‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’, ‘Supergirl’) plays the role of girlfriend Lisa. Her boyfriend Eric is played by Anthony Turpel (Love, Victor’, ‘The Bold and The Beautiful’).

Lou Ferrigno (‘The Incredible Hulk’, ‘Hercules’) leads the film, as the title character ‘The Hermit’. As his fans well know, this will be Ferringo’s first role playing a creature since his starring role in ‘The Incredible Hulk’.

“The Hermit’s story is that he’s been a loner,” the film’s producer Gerry Pass explained. “His mother protected him; kept him in the forest. He doesn’t speak well, because after an injury during his youth, the Hermit is hearing impaired.”

The film is being directed by the U.S.-based Italian director Salvatore Sclafani, who produced ‘Tyger Tyger’ starring Dylan Sprouse. In 2017, Sclafani won the ‘Student’s Jury’s Award’, for his short film ‘Self Control’ at the 2017 Naples Film Festival.

Shooting for the film is happening currently in Syracuse, New York.

Anthony Turpel is represented by Buchwald, Stagecoach Entertainment and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman, Smkelkinson & Christopher. Malina Weissman is represented by Paradigm.
