Harriet Chung – A World Away

Directed by Theresa Kowall-Shipp, the official music video of Harriet Chung’s A World Away will take your breath away. Powered by stunning visuals, the video does justice to Chung’s mesmerizing voice as this ballad of unfulfilled love is a powerhouse in its own right, impressing the audience through its sheer raw energy alone.

The winding curtains, the intense close ups and the deft camera work all are perfectly in sync with the tone of the song, elevating the lyrics and delivering a stunning audio visual experience.

Chung looks stunning as always as a melancholic bride waiting for her lover. From the white hues of her wedding dress to the all red interior of winding stair ways, there is a visual language to the song that perfectly complements the deep lyrics.

The set design is beautiful and does not, at all, distract from the song. Several music videos often go overboard with this, displaying a highly intricate and complex set that detracts from the song at hand.

“This music video is a completely new version of A World Away with a live orchestra. We shot the MV in Revolution studio in Toronto during the orchestra recording and at the beautiful Heintzman Heritage House in Thornhill, Ontario, Canada.”

However, this is not the case here. The winding curtains, the intense close ups and the deft camera work all are perfectly in sync with the tone of the song, elevating the lyrics and delivering a stunning audio visual experience.

The star of the show is Chung herself and everything, from her wardrobe to her jewelry, is a sight to behold.

The visuals of Chung displaying her aural prowess are interspersed with the orchestra which adds a unique touch to the whole affair. The video manages to hit all the right notes and leaves its viewers wanting more by the time it ends.

With stunning production quality and impeccable sound design, A World Away does its lyrics and its singer justice. Harriet Chung has a voice from the heavens and her music video will make you fall in love with your significant other all over again.
